ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament)reconstruction is a surgery in which the reconstruction of the ligament present in the centre of your knee is done. A wear and tear of this ligament can cause a person’s knee to give away during its physical activity.
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive technique that permits orthopaedic surgeons to evaluate and helps in easy treatment for the range of conditions related to knee joint.
Therapeutic applications of arthroscopy can also terminate the requirement for large incisions. Many orthopaedic surgeons use arthroscopic surgery rather than open surgery for ACL injuries because:
Open Reduction Internal Fixation
Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF) involves the implementation of implants to guide the healing process of a bone, as well as the open reduction, or setting, of the bone itself. Open Reduction refers to open surgery to set bones, as is necessary for some fractures.
Closed Reduction Internal Fixation
Closed Reduction Internal Fixation (CRIF) is reduction without any open surgery, followed by internal fixation. It appears to be an acceptable alternative in unstable distressed or hyper-falotated lateral condylar fractures of the humerus in children, but if fracture displacement after closed reduction exceeds 2 mm, open reduction and internal fixation is recommended.
Hip Replacement is a surgical procedure, in which the hip joint is being replaced by a prosthetic implant. The most frequent cause of the debilitating pain is arthritis. It has been estimated that about 40% of the people have some form of arthritis. The most general form of the arthritis is osteoarthritis, a progressive loss of the bearing surface of the hip, which in the main wears away and becomes damaged. It primarily occurs in the people who are at retirement age. In younger people, the problem of arthritis rises due to previous injury to the joint or inflammatory arthritis.
Knee Replacement Surgery
Knee replacement (Knee arthroplasty), is a surgical procedure of replacing the weight-bearded surfaces of the knee joint in order to relieve pain and the generated disability.
Knee Replacement is most commonly executed for osteoarthritis, and also for other knee diseases like psoriatic arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This surgery is generally reserved for people who are above 50 years of age and those who have severe osteoarthritis.
